Pottery On The Avon
Where Art Meets Clay
My name is Steve Hall. I moved with my wife Katrina and daughter Amy, to the incredibly creative community of Stratford in Victoria. Our property has the lovely Avon River running through it, hence Pottery On The Avon, also POTA makes an appropriate acronym.

I've recently retired and even more recently discovered the amazing world of pottery. Since starting my creative journey early this year, I have been overwhelmed by the generous encouragement of the local potters that I have been lucky enough to meet. They are such a happy and positive community to be a part of and as one of them said to me recently, "Who wouldn't be happy playing with mud?"

My intention is for Pottery On The Avon to become a small pottery studio and gallery. The gallery will display not only outstanding work from local potters but also work from exceptional local painters.
Although I'm new to the world of ceramics I am passionate about experimenting with different clay types, and glaze and firing techniques, with the emphasis being on creating unique rather than commercial pieces. Equally I want to develop a studio which serves as a relaxing and creative space where family, friends and community can learn about the incredible potential of having fun with clay.

Values
I value creativity, community, and the joy of learning. My hope is that all of the art work represented at Pottery On The Avon will reflect those values.
